Education

My experience in teaching translates to my work in communications in higher education. I see teaching and learning – and specifically the student experience – as a priority for storytelling.

I worked in teaching and learning in different capacities for some ten years. I have experience as an instructor, facilitator, instructional designer, and academic mentor.

I taught courses at Memorial University while working on my PhD. I was the sole-charge instructor for first-year critical reading and writing context credit courses, including English 1080.

I am a trained facilitator, having completed the Facilitator Development Workshop through the ISW network. I previously facilitated workshops for Brock University’s School of Graduate Studies and Department of Applied Disability Studies. I also facilitate workshops for clients in the private sector and for NGOs.

I have been working in online teaching and learning for several years. I am especially interested in universal instructional design and theories of digital literacy for developing online courses.

I support students as a volunteer academic mentor with Urban Squash Toronto.
