Jon Parsons is a writer and researcher. His journalism has appeared in The Independent NL, Ricochet, The Tyee, CBC NL, and other publications. He has published three books: COVID-19 and Ethics in Canada: The Failure of Common Decency (2022), Everyday Dissent: Politics and Resistance in Newfoundland and Labrador (2016), and Expressive Subjects (2018), a workbook of creative writing prompts. Jon completed a PhD at Memorial University, researching in the fields of literature, resistance studies, applied ethics, disability studies, and phenomenology. He is a former community organizer and activist.
